Reflections on 2009

Well I thought i should put some thoughts out into cyber space about our 2009 year... it's been HUGE. We've been to Australia where we stayed with our favourite Australians (te he) Carmen and Rob and thier wee cherub Poppy. We've renovated our Lounge, Dining, Laundry/Kitchen, Toilet and Hallway. Greg's worked TIRELESSLY on many projects including doing the renovation pretty much all by himself (with amazing assistance from Poppa, Grandad, Grandad J, Andy and a few guys from Church) He's also made a number of chopping boards for wedding and birthday and Christmas presents and is currently working on a top secret project for a wedding present.

Greg's developed his passion for chocolate and expanded his culinary repertoire to include the most delectable truffles.

Madeline has also expanded her repertoire and can now make many different kinds of shape biscuits and is getting very good at icing and dipping in sprinkles. She liked the sparkles in the sky this guy fawkes and has enjoyed the Christmas present bonanza hat we've just had immensely. She's speaking full sentences and if you're patient enough she'll tell you all sorts of things about her day and the things she was allowed or not allowed to do. She's a whopping 92cm tall and weighs in at only 11.7 kg so she's tall and lean... she's covered in grazes and or bruises most of the time as she only has one speed and that's full on. She is a total delight and it's been so much fun to watch her grow in compassion, care and love for her little brother...and consequently act out her mothering skills on her dolly and lamby (they get wrapped, burped, pushed in the pram and fed via her tummy button ;o)).

Joshua is rolling from back to his side and from his tummy to his back, he has days where he feeds every 2 hours and that can be exhausting, but where Madeline had the reflux pain he is spilly but pain free so it's incredible to have a baby that just pretty much constantly smiles and laughs. He was a bit mean to Barby at Lys's wedding rehearsal but unfortunately other women are no substitute for his mother ;o). He's just beautiful and it's so busy having two babies but there are moments of great triumph that make the dragging my feet along for 3 feeds in the night worth it. (Also he goes through the night without needing to be fed occasionally and that helps immensely)

to be continued
