Seemed to be able to cram huge amounts of socialising into one weekend... and still haven't really recovered ;o) On Thursday night Andy stayed with us on his way up north and he and Greg loaded up dad's trailer with the room load of broken up gib, ceiling and wallpaper and took it off to the tip first thing Friday morning. They also went out and bought all the veges for our new garden using a voucher that Grandma had given us... so yay free veges all winter!
A local cat has been delighted by our new garden much to Greg's dismay... so after a wee bit of consultation Greg bought some chicken wire to cover the garden rather than an electric fence...gun... or gin trap... all of which i was pretty adamant could not be used in Auckland ;o) Hilarious!
Dan and Susanna were keen to help us out in the weekend but with people staying and the weather fairly drizzly there wasn't much we could do so we enjoyed dinner with them on Monday night instead.
Maree came down Sunday afternoon and spoke at Manurewa Bible Chapel about her upcoming adventures in Africa. She left on Monday to Fly via Thailand and South Africa to her new nursing post where she hopes to be for up to 9 months. I was a nice family time on Monday morning as we said goodbye to her...and Janet beat me in yet another scrabble game... sadly she almost doubled her points against me this time... i think she's taking advantage of me in my abnormal state...te he just kidding!
The news on the baby is great. We had a scan at 24 weeks as part of the SCOPE study Greg and I have been participating and i don't show any signs of developing preeclampsia which is great. They measure the heart beat of the baby and record it as a wave form... then measure the length of the wave form and from that draw all sorts of conclusions. So that was our last scan i think until the baby is born and we only had the scan because of the study... but it was nice to see the baby again. It was covering both it's eyes in "hide and go seek" style and scratched it's head... so maybe it's going to be a thinker ;o). Feeling loads more kicks and can occasionally see the baby kick from the outside...so weird! Having trouble moving into spaces that are normally no problem... like between the back door and the wash tub in the laundry... and sleeping is getting more and more interesting as my dreams become louder and more warped! ANYWAY....
We've worked out that we have about 8 weeks to get the master bedroom ready to be carpetted so everything is all go for us at the moment.
Thanks for tuning in... will post photos next time ;o)
